Family Owned and Operated Since 1991

Crabapple Academy is a family owned and operated private school for early childhood. We were established in the Crabapple, Georgia area in 1991. 

Since opening our doors, we have seen our graduates go on to excel in all areas of their lives. We believe that our Renaissance Approach is not a revolution in childcare, per se.  Rather, it is a  holistic approach to Early Childhood Education as a way of  garnering the best aspects of each child's potential. We focus our efforts on each individual child's mind, body and soul; just as Renaissance minds were inspired by humanity to see the world with a fresh, curious and enthusiastic perspective.   

We believe that our small size and independent ownership allow us to provide a more personal, relationship- based environment between teachers, children, and parents. We take inspiration from Florence, Italy at the beginning of the Rennaissance; this is just the beginning. We aim to teach children how to think, not what to think. We encourage lifelong dedication to their own values and interests, and an active interest in their fellow man as well. Teaching Early Childhood is the most grassroots of all endeavors, with so many important values and connections made in those first five years of life. We treat it with importance because it is important. Michelangelo himself said at 87, "I am still learning." 

Our aim is to instill this kind of lifelong passion for learning, growth, health, movement, compassion, enthusiasm, humor, art, music, story, and the appreciation of life in real time. We have seen a lot of children over the years, and one thing is clear; the quote "While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about" remains true. They have an innate understanding of joy and presence that we seek to help them recognize and relish for their whole lives.
